Think of Travel As Part of Your Development And Not Just A Vacation
Traveling is one of best ways to expand your horizons and immerse yourself in new experiences. But there is more to traveling than just sightseeing – it’s an opportunity to discover new cultures and gain new insights into the world around you. My co-founder and I have been fortunate to experience different environments since childhood, and this has had a profound impact on our personal and professional growth. It also inspired the launch of The Change School, where we offer transformative educational programs around the world for individuals of any age to help them better plan and achieve their goals in life. We believe the combination of education, personal development, and travel aligns purpose and passion.
Our signature program, Change Ventures, is a 21-day experience designed to help you reset and develop your work/life balance. We offer participants peer sessions, interactive workshops, cultural excursions, and inspirational talks from guest speakers as well as daily yoga and wellness activities. This holistic approach combines personal discovery with cultural exploration to ensure a purposeful professional and personal life.
If you’re looking to travel, think of it as part of your development, not just a vacation. To help you, we have a few tips:
01 | RESEARCH A DESTINATION THAT OFFERS WHAT YOU NEED
It’s no coincidence that we host our signature program in Bali – Southeast Asia’s hub of social innovation that also provides serenity and natural beauty to inspire creativity! Beyond a beautiful beach villa, dig deeper to uncover the unique experiences your destination of choice has to offer. Are there activities? If so, what kind – community meet-ups or adventurous excursions? Beach time is great, but find something that will push your boundaries and spark a thought-provoking experience that will stay with you.
02 | GO BEYOND TRADITIONAL SIGHTSEEING – IMMERSE YOURSELF IN LOCAL CULTURE
Sightseeing is definitely a part of the travel experience, but go deeper – learn from the locals and travelers around you. Be open to serendipitous encounters by meeting and engaging with people around you – discover their secret spots or favorite destinations. Immerse yourself in the local culture for a new and meaningful experience that will broaden your horizons.
03 | FIND THE BALANCE: RELAXATION, ADVENTURE AND “WORK”
During the Change Ventures program we offer educational resources alongside unique experiences, combining personal discovery with peer collaboration, mentoring, learning workshops and more. Make time and space for personal time, trying something new and reflecting on your experiences and how they are influencing your future plans. Try writing or photo journaling your day’s journey to uncover new strengths or weaknesses, what makes you happy or gets you excited – all of which can help you gain a better understanding of your life’s passion and purpose.
Before you book your next vacation, think about how you can get the most out of the experience. Whether you’re traveling to a new city or entirely new country, dig deeper to explore the world around you.
