The first Friday in February is National Wear Red Day; this day is much more than just a fashion statement, but rather a symbol to pay homage to women that have lost their lives due to heart disease. National Wear Red Day is dedicated to raising awareness about this silent killer, which takes the life of nearly 1,100 women a day. However, there is hope. Since the campaigns inception in 2003, awareness of healthy lifestlyes have increased dramatically. The campaign has educated women about the causes of heart disease, resulting in 34% fewer women dying from a heart related illness. (Go Red For Women #GoRed)

So go ahead and break out your best red for a cause. If you’re stuck for ideas don’t fret we have got you covered.

LRD is the new LBD. A little red dress is the new little black dress; it looks perfect on any skin tone and as a bonus you will never blend in a sea of your friends in dark colors

Red Pants! Especially around this time of year red pants are a great staple. Pair your favorite pants with your favorite wrap sweater and statement necklace and you will be ready to proudly spread the word for National Wear Red Day.

If accessories are your go-to, add a pop of red. Whether it is your favorite pumps or scarf you can proudly display your red accents with your favorite ensemble.
