Party With Purpose: A Midsummer’s Night 5K
HOBOKEN, NJ- July 16, 2013- I joined over 1,400 braves souls who battled the heat to run in Party With Purpose’s A Midsummer’s Night 5K. The Hoboken waterfront made a picturesque backdrop for the run and provided a distraction from the scorching heat. This run not only served as a personal accomplishment for many runners (I ran a best time!), but also raised money to support local youth charities, including the Hoboken Boys and Girls Club and the Jubilee Center.
Party With Purpose redefines the traditional sense of philanthropy where giving back simply means mailing a donation check. “PWP is a group of people who have a unique definition to ‘giving back.’ We are (young) professionals who work together to organize events that benefit our community and beyond. We make ‘giving back’ part of our individual routines. Personally, I have met many friends that I may not have otherwise through personal, professional, cultural or social organizations. We all make volunteerism a priority, though. It is truly a unique and inspiring group of people. We hope that our organization continues to attract members that want to incorporate fun and community service on a regular basis,” said Melissa Gitlitz, Board Member and Race Director. The 5K is just one of many hosted by the charity that brings people together to enjoy entertainment, conversation, and giving back. Party With Purpose demonstrates that you don’t have to go out of your way to make a difference.
Party With Purpose was true to their motto, “Work hard, Play hard, Give hard” and made sure that runners enjoyed an after party on Pier A filled with food, great company, and music by The Counterfeiters. Creating a culture of fun, friends, and philanthropy is all in a day’s work for the wonderful volunteers and supporters from Party With Purpose.
Party With Purpose Inc., (PWP) is a 501 (c)(3), charity run entirely by volunteers who produce unique, exciting fundraisers and donate the proceeds to charities in the local community. Since its founding by Scott Delea in 2002, PWP has donated almost $425,000 to organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hudson County, Jubilee Center, PAL, CASA and Jeremy’s Heroes. Fundraising events include the Annual PWP Hoboken 5K and Kids Events taking place along the majestic Hoboken waterfront. Party With Purpose’s motto is “Work hard, Play hard, Give Hard.”
