HumanRightsDay
Make a promise and fight for someone’s rights…Human Rights Day is celebrated to “intensify our efforts to fulfill our collective responsibility to promote and protect the rights and dignity of all people everywhere,” said by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

How can you get involved? First, learn why millions are rallying together to support this special day.  According to the UN General Assembly, they “proclaimed December 10 as Human Rights Day in 1950, to bring to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.” –United Nations.

For this 2013, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights marks 20 years since its establishment.
